Blend and Write: A New Word Mapping Activity

I’m thrilled to introduce my newest resource, Word Mapping: Blend and Write, a no-prep resource designed to enhance your students’ phonemic awareness and literacy skills.

I will share how to incorporate it into your lessons and differentiate its use for various learning levels.

What is Blend and Write?

Fun and no prep word mapping activity called Blend and Write for kindergarten and first grade students

This word mapping activity is FUN and ENGAGING and could be used to strengthen phonemic awareness and early literacy skills. Students use a multisensory approach by saying, tapping, and blending sounds to write words.

They locate the corresponding picture and write the sounds in the sound boxes. Simple!

When Can You Use Blend and Write?

  1. Phonics Centers: Incorporate these worksheets into your literacy centers, allowing students to independently practice the skills you taught.
  2. Small Group Instruction: Use this resource during small group sessions to provide targeted support for students needing additional practice with blending and writing.
  3. Morning Warm-Ups: Start the day with these printables to set a positive tone for learning and review key phonemic concepts.

Blend and Write can help your students gain phonemic mastery. Get this no-prep and interactive activity here.

Happy teaching,
