When can I use this?
Create a dedicated Word Mapping Center in your classroom where students can work independently or in small groups. Equip the center with the necessary materials – printable word mapping sheets, writing utensils, and sound charts. I like to print, staple them, and turn them into books.
Meaningful Morning Work
Start your day with a quick word-mapping exercise during your morning routine. You can select a page relevant to your current lesson or focus area and have students complete it.
Literacy Stations
Students can practice the target sound during literacy stations. You can differentiate your instruction by assigning certain pages to students based on need. With daily practice, students will write sentences using the phonics skills you taught.
Whole Group Practice
